What is Zapier?
Have you ever tried to integrate two or more applications and found that there was no integration available? Zapier is your solution. Zapier is a web application that allows you to connect different applications together without any programming required. You simply create “zaps” which are recipes that tell Zapier how to connect the applications.
For example, let’s say you use a CRM to track your customers and sales, but you also use a separate application to track your inventory. Zapier can be used to automatically update the inventory when a new customer is added in the CRM, or to send an alert to your team whenever inventory falls below a certain level. Zapier can even be used to automatically create new customers in the CRM based on information from another application.
Zapier is a great solution for businesses that want to automate their workflows, but don’t have the time or resources to program their own integrations. Zapier has hundreds of applications already integrated, and new integrations are being added all the time. You can try Zapier for free, and there are no contracts or commitments.
How Does Lemonade Stand Use Zapier?
Here’s the deal. I would never tell you to go out and use a software if I haven’t used that software myself. So, does Lemonade Stand use Zapier? Oh you bet we do! Let me just throw out a few examples here to show you how we use it and how you might be able to use it!
Gmail to Yalla
We all know what Gmail is, but some of you might know what Yalla is. Let me shed a little light on that subject for you. Yalla is a team collaboration software that we built for our own team. It has chat, tasks, projects, calendars, etc. Tons and tons of stuff. I won’t dive into all the details, but you can check out more about it here or on the Yalla website, here. It’s pretty cool.
So we use Yalla all day everyday for most of our needs; however, like everyone else, we still need some things to come through email. For anything like that, we use our company Gmail accounts. The idea behind Yalla, though, is to simplify life and to not have to live in your email. So how do we combine the two?
Simple.
Zapier does it for us. Gmail is integrated with Zapier, and Yalla is as well. If you have a software yourself, I highly recommend that you get that thing integrated with Zapier. It opens up a whole new world of possibilities!
Through Zapier we have been able to link Gmail to Yalla. The way that we have it set up is that any time you star an email in your Gmail account, Zapier will push that through to Yalla, and you’ll get a brand new task up on your to-do board with all of the details from that email. That way, you don’t have to pull things out of your email or try to remember them to add tasks to your Yalla board later on. While you’re in your email, you just throw a little star on there, and BOOM! You have a task made for you in your Yalla account.
It is amazing!!
No need to build out a complicated integration or try to get a massive partnership with Google. So many apps already live within the world of Zapier, and you can just integrate them yourself!
Qwilr to Yalla
I know that this is another Yalla integration.. But I’m just trying to make sure you get the picture of how cool Zapier can be.
Yalla also has a chat feature similar to our friends over at Slack. We have a big ol team chat where we can all communicate and take friendly jabs at one another. You know the kind of chat I’m talking about.
We also use Qwilr to send out some super nice proposals to potential clients.
Why would a chat and a proposal software ever need to be combined? They probably wouldn’t.. So a direct integration isn’t likely. Our team, however, really likes to celebrate with each other. It’s part of our culture. So, using Zapier, we built out a little automation that any time a proposal is accepted and a potential client becomes an actual client, it sends over a little celebration message to our team chat with some of the details of the new client. Then we are all able to party together for a minute in that chat as gifs are exchanged in a flurry and people all share in the fun.
Necessary? Maybe not.. Super cool? You bet!
Contact Forms to Texts

Our sales process, like many other companies’ sales process, begins (usually) with a little contact form found on our website.
