So why do we use Yalla and why did we choose it over all of the other team collaboration and productivity/task management software out there in the world?
Well, this might be a bit of an unfair question if you know the background on how and why Yalla was created (I will explain), but, ultimately, we do believe that Yalla is the best all around option for companies in our industry (digital marketing), and it has definitely been a better fit for us than any other platform that we have tried to use.
How Did Yalla Come to be?
So how did Yalla actually come about?
Well, like I said, we have tried many, many different software platforms for our team. They’re all pretty great, and they all have amazing features! But, almost every one that we tried would have us end up saying things like, “Man! I wish this one could just do this…” or “If only these two platforms were combined. Wouldn’t that be crazy cool!?”
At the end of the day, we couldn’t find the absolute perfect platform for us. So, rather than settle for something that we did not absolutely love or deal with the pain of having multiple platforms to keep track of (messaging platform, task management system, customer information hub, etc. all in separate platforms), we decided that we would just create our own! Why not, right??
And thus, Yalla was born!
In creating Yalla we took all of the features that we loved about the various platforms that we had used, and then we combined them all into a single platform that could accomplish every single thing that we would ever need to do within a platform like this.
The result was one freaking amazing package with all the bells and whistles included.
We love Yalla, and we would most definitely not be in the spot that we are now without it.
So there’s a little bit of an origin story on Yalla for you! You can read more about that here if you’d like to!
Why do we Keep Using it?
What is it about Yalla that makes it such a great fit for our team?
Well, let’s dive into some of the details and features that make us love it so much!
First of all, we loooooove tasks! We are the kind of people that love the feeling of checking something off of a to-do list and the way that it makes you feel more productive than just by simply doing that thing. The task feature within Yalla is one of its most robust and well-built features.
Practically anything you could want to do with a task will be present here. We can assign those tasks to other team members, specific client profiles built out within Yalla, larger projects that we might have going on, etc. Basically, you can put that task wherever you see fit and wherever makes the most sense for what you’re trying to accomplish. You could also assign a task to those three places I mentioned simultaneously. You can have a task assigned to a person, who is assigned to a project, which project is assigned to a client! Really cool hierarchy there! Tasks are really the bread and butter here and a lot of the other features were built around that idea.
Second item would be the chat feature. The chat is very intuitive and can be a great way for team bonding as well as communication!
You can build out specific chat channels with multiple (or all) of your team members, or you can chat via direct messaging with just one person. The chat features plenty of gifs as well as some cool sound effects and other things that make it a fun place to be and a great way to be able to stay in touch with all of the people that you need.
One of our favorite things about the chat is the fact that you can turn any message directly into a task that will be added straight to your main to-do board. We used to be messaging each other on all different systems (texts, emails, messaging platforms, etc.) and then trying to make sure that things didn’t fall through the cracks. Whether that was taking someone’s request and adding it to a task management system or just trying to remember all the different places where people might have asked you to do something. Now, it literally takes us one click, and we can turn someone’s message straight into a task, so we don’t have to worry about adding that in manually. It’s pretty cool!
What else in Yalla keeps us so organized and running so efficiently? Well, there’s a pretty cool spot that we call Companies. This is where you can add in your own clients and create a little profile for them within Yalla. Under that section you can add in all the information that you want including contact info, meeting notes, special circumstances, etc. This is really up to you! You can also create tasks right within their profile pages to auto-assign those tasks to that client. You can create more long-term projects that might have multiple deadlines or larger tasks housed underneath them. All of this can live and breathe right within the client’s profile, so there are no questions about where you should go to find the information that you need.
There are a lot of other details in the Companies section, but those are the main points.
Yalla has tons of other features that we all use on a daily basis such as: funnels for moving particular tasks along a line of steps or stages through a repetitive process that happens frequently and will have the same steps each time, projects for managing the larger items that our team members are working on that one single task could not fully encompass, time-tracking tools such as stopwatches assigned to each task that you create and a timesheet where you can keep track of how much time you’ve spent on a particular task or on a particular company or project (again, since everything is in one spot, it makes it really easy to keep things organized – this is extremely helpful if you bill clients on an hourly basis), integrations through apps like Zapier that open up a world of possibilities, and more!
Yalla is incredibly robust and feature rich, and we are working on adding to it and improving it every single day.
Lemonade Stand would not have been able to have grown as it has without the use of Yalla. We love Yalla, and we know that we are slightly biased because we built it ourselves, but we truly do think that it is the best solution around (especially for digital marketing agencies like us)!
We also welcome feedback and criticism, so please feel free to give it a look over, sign up for an account, and provide all the feedback that you want through this little link here.
If you have any questions at all about Yalla or what it can do for you, please feel free to schedule a demo with our team through that same link.
Let me know what you think!
