I realize that the title of this post sounds like you’re about to dive into a hilarious episode of Friends where the Lemonade Stand team all got together for Thanksgiving and got into a bunch of shenanigans. While that does sound amazing, that’s not exactly what’s going on here.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I have been thinking about all of the things that our little company has to be grateful for and the blessings that we all share. I love this time of year and the reflection that it causes in each of us. Rather than just think about it this time, though, I felt that I should write it all down as a big thank you to the world and the wonderful people that have been involved with Lemonade Stand in any way.
Our Team
First off, where would we be without our incredible team?
Our team is full of some of the coolest, most amazing and incredible people that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I spoke to these people one time, and I knew that I needed to work with them.
We are so very grateful for our team members, and for their families and everyone else that is important to them and who makes them into the people that they are.
We are grateful for the work that they do to help us all grow together, but more than that, we are just grateful that we all get to work together and learn from and be lifted up by each other. If you ever need a pick-me-up, you should give our office a call and talk to just about anyone. They would be more than happy to take time out of their day to serve you.
Our Clients
We have the best clients.
Our clients would not be as happy as they are without our awesome team, but we also would not even have a team without all of the clients that we get to help. We love and appreciate the people that allow us to work with them.
Not only do we have the opportunity to help these clients and their businesses succeed, but we also get to form relationships and friendships with them. This is such a cool aspect of business that I didn’t even know was really possible before joining the Lemonade Stand Team. I thought the norm was to just complain about your clients and the work that they are asking you to do (which is what helps you get a paycheck, by the way), but our clients are actually loved by our team! We talk with them. We care about them and the things happening in their lives. We are so grateful for clients who allow us to have more than just a business relationship.
Our clients make our work fun, and we are thankful for that.
Our Podcast and Podcast Guests
If you didn’t know that Lemonade Stand had a podcast, check it out here!
The purpose behind this podcast is to spread goodness to the world and share inspiring stories. One of our core values is to Serve Others First. We are so grateful that the podcast has given us such a great platform to be able to put this core value into action.
We are thankful that people listen to it and allow us the opportunity to continue to put more good out into the world.
Another aspect of the podcast that I’d like to highlight are the guests that come on the show. These guests are some of the busiest people around, and the fact that they make time to be on our podcast for the sole purpose of helping other people, is just amazing to me.
Build Then Bless
Finally, we are thankful for our company mantra – our reason to be. This is something that we call Build Then Bless.
Build Then Bless started as just an idea that we should build our company around the idea of serving other people. This is something that has been important to our founder, Greg Trimble, since the very beginning of Lemonade Stand. It is the reason he even wanted to start a company.
It has now grown into an actual and established program within our company where we are able to give a small amount of money to each of our team members each month to go out and do something good for anybody that needs it. We encourage our people to use this in face-to-face interactions with other human beings who need a little bit of help with something. It has produced some of the greatest stories of service and love that I have ever heard.
We are now hoping for this to become a movement, a force for good in the world (more to come on this later), but we are just grateful that it has even come this far and has been such a life-changing program for countless people across the nation as well as for our own team members. This has shaped us all into better people, and we are grateful for it.
There are many more things to be grateful for, but these are just the few that I wanted to highlight.
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving this year and have been able to take some time to reflect on all that you have to be thankful for! While you’re at it, this holiday season, find someone that you can Build Then Bless and share your story on social media with the hashtag, #BuildThenBless!
